Body Parts
By Mary Cook

left my heart in Disney World,
A leg at Wounded Knee
I’ve lost so many body parts
There’s not much left of me.
My only foot requires no boot:
A van-man crushed my toe.
I lost an arm to a runaway horse
Whose rider forgot to say: “Whoah!”
I lost my scalp to a clumsy surgeon
Who wanted to pick my brains.
It means the hole in my skull gets filled
Every damn time it rains.
I lost my sight to a passing crow
But I’ve gained an extra eye
The one in my pocket, knocked out by a rocket,
Is part of another guy.
