Certainly, not having learned our lesson from Bloodthirst: Legend of the Chupacabras, we eagerly raced to the video store when we discovered the sequel, Bloodthirst 2: Revenge of the Chupacabras. How does this one compare to the first monster-less monster movie? Well, this one has a chupacabra, but we’re not sure why. Interestingly enough, the chupacabra just got in the way of the story. Bloodthirst 2 is a story about kidnapping, double-crosses, and blackmail. The poor chupacabra just seemed to be caught in the middle. We’re sure that he just wanted everyone to get along. The hero from Bloodthirst: Legend of the Chupacabras does make an appearance in this movie as a mental patient. Everyone seems to believe he imagined the chupacabra…although there were at least three other people who made it out alive with him the first time. They’re all conveniently forgotten in this movie. In regards to the chupacabra in the sequel, it’s our opinion that the platform with which the special effects were generated was clearly the Commodore 64. This sad, sad chupacabra had some irreparable spinal damage that clearly forced him to walk everywhere in the seated position. Maybe he just had to use the restroom but could never find the proper facilities. He surely had to take a crap and this movie was the result! Statler’s in the restroom now making Bloodthirst 3: Son of the Chupacabras.
